The WIB brings together the business and education communities, local government, and residents of Santa Cruz County to:
- Identify local and regional workforce issues and create practical solutions
- Keep its finger on the pulse of changes in local occupations

Responsibly and creatively manage the employment services funded by the federal Workforce Investment Act, to train and deploy workers, retrain employees who have been laid off and help all workers gain the skills they need to enter and prosper in the labor market.
The WIB is dedicated to help Santa Cruz jobseekers access the tools they need to manage their careers and to help local employers find the skilled workers they need to compete and succeed.
